An Atlas for Kids - FactMonster

Field Tested:
No
Description:

A website for research and reference purposes. Students can go to factmonster.com and find out information quickly about just about anything ie. countries around the world or information about presidents. Intended Audience: (grade level/curricular area, etc.)

I would say this website is ideal for kids in grades 3 to 6 who are conducting research. It could also be helpful for parents assisting with homework. The website is free for all users and all you need is internet access to use this website. Students often need supporting information for reports in grades three through six. This website is fantastic for finding quick information about countries, cultures or science concepts. It works much the same way an atlas does. My favorite section is the quiz section which gives you questions from the citizenship quiz used by the Immigration and naturalization service.

Much more than an Atlas for kids. There's a Periodic table that lets you learn about each of the elements, math resources and how to write bibliographies also. Definitely worth the visit!
