Adapting pre-existing units to use open source software for GEOSS
Submitted by Robert Sargent on Fri, 02/22/2008 - 19:15.
This entry is aimed at the participants in the GEOSS community project. Attached are documents that present a unit on Cartesian
coordinates, one using Microworlds Logo (proprietary software) and one using
Scratch (open source software). It is essentially the same document. the only
changes are that one uses Logo commands and the other uses Scratch commands. It is an example of how easy it should be to adapt pre-existing units to use open source applications.
You can download Scratch at the following website.
ps. I realize that the attachements were written in MS Word. I haven't yet moved over to an open source word processor.
